E-Mail Mr. Whitetail!
Larry Wilcox harvested this beautiful 9 pointer on 9/21/06.
The buck is still in full velvet (not a mark on it) and had a 17 inch inside spread.
Congratulations Larry!!
Below are 2 photos taken with my Camtrakker on October 2nd.
This is the 9 pointer that I have passed up a shot on many times.
He doesn't have the width or mass that I'm looking for, but
later in the season he might be a little more tempting!
Brandon Wilcox, son of Larry (above), took his first buck during the Wisconsin
Youth Rifle Hunt on 10/7/06. The buck had a 16 1/2" inside spread. Way to go Brandon!
Well that's it for 2006, see you next year!

Cortnee Moore, who has bow hunted for 2 years, shot her first deer. It's a nice 8 pointer
that was harvested on October 4th in Van Buren County - Michigan. Way to go Cortnee!
Roland Coonen, a long time viewer and hunter from Wisconsin, harvested another dandy buck.
The buck is a 14 pointer with an inside spread of 17 5/8" and field dressed at 180 pounds.
Roland took this deer in Waupaca County WI, using some early season calling techniques.

Below are 4 photos of a local 12 point albino buck that has made quite a spectacle of himself.
My wife and I have seen him while scouting, but we didn't have a camera with us. The first two
pictures were while he was in velvet, the second two are after he was polished. The pictures
were taken off of a videotape that Larry Wilcox recorded this Summer and Fall, and the photo
quality is the best I can get from the videotape. Still pretty unique!
Lance and Rob, in late October, went  out to Montana to hunt. They had their choice
of harvesting a mule deer or whitetail. Both of them ended up choosing to take
whitetail bucks. Lance's was a 10 pointer, Rob's was an 8 pointer. Photos below.
Mark Jack, from Westmoreland County -PA., arrowed another nice buck this year.
This makes 20 archery bucks in 20 years for him. The buck is a 12 pointer plus, had a
17 1/2 inside spread, and was harvested on November 9th with an XI bow and muzzies.
Brandon Wilcox, son of Larry (both in 2006 Highlights already), is having an awesome
year for any hunter let alone a 13 year old. Brandon harvested this dandy 9 pointer on
November 10th. The buck had an 18 1/4" inside spread, and a double brow tine.
Page is in order from oldest to newest highlights!
Mr-Whitetail (Tony) harvests an 8 pointer on 11/14/06. It's not the buck I was hoping
for, and I have passed up shots this year on many that were bigger. Last year I passed
up shots, even late in the season, and ended up with an empty freezer as a result. Being
that my bow hunting season was coming to an end, and my freezer still being empty, I
decided to harvest this smaller racked buck. Good shot, quick kill, meat in the freezer,
lots of time in the stand. All in all it was an enjoyable season, and I look forward to the
next one.  Now, to prepare for the rifle season!
Rifle season opened on November 18th.  My daughter "Ashley" was unsuccessful in
harvesting a buck before her season ended, although she sat every morning and
evening. I was able to harvest a 7 pointer on Thanksgiving evening, with that being
the first and only deer that I saw up to that point.

The deer registration numbers were down drastically this year according to the
local sport shops and newspapers. This was due to the warm temperatures, lack of
snow and deer movement.

Hopefully many of you were successful in your rifle hunt this year! I will post more
information as it comes in to me.

Denninger's hunting crew, which includes Doug and Lance, had a very good season.
The group ended up with 1 eleven pointer, 4 ten pointers, 3 eight pointers, and 1 six
pointer. The group stood stands on opening day, then made drives the majority of
the remainder of the season.
Photos below.

Waggoner's hunting crew didn't do quite as well as the Denninger's did. They did
have a few nice bucks on their pole, along with several smaller racked bucks.
Bob Alberhasky took this 8 pointer during the Kentucky traditional rifle season.
Drey Myers, from Northwest Wisconsin, harvested his first deer ever.
Lisa Miltakis, from Duluth - MN, took this dandy 10 pointer. I believe
the buck was harvested during the 2006 Minnesota Rifle Season,
and I will correct this post if I find out differently.
Bill Gardner, rifle hunting with his fiancé, harvested this nice
8 pointer during Maine's 2006 Rifle Season. The buck had a
17 1/2" inside spread and dressed out at 160 pounds.
Mike Siglin, from St. Paul - MN, harvested his first trophy buck on opening day of
Minnesota's 2006 Rifle Season. Congratulations on the dandy 10 pointer!
The boys went down to Iowa for the Shotgun Season in December.
Included among them were Doug, Lance, Kujo, Trent, Jeremy, Tom,
and John. They did very well again this year, their photos are below.
