E-Mail Mr. Whitetail!
Bow Season opened September 17th!
Good Luck Wisconsin Bowhunters!
GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS!!
September 16th, 2005 news:
The jury trial ended today for Chai Vang, in Hayward, Wisconsin. He has been found guilty
on all counts for the shooting deaths of 6 Wisconsin deerhunters, and wounding two others,
in November 2004.

The jury deliberated for 3 hours before reaching a verdict. Vang was found guilty for
six counts of first-degree intentional homicide (each carrying a mandatory life term) and
three counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide (each carrying 65 years in prison.)

Sentencing was completed on November 8, 2005, in Sawyer County.
Chai Vang was sentenced to life in prison, without the option of parole. Chai made a
statement at the sentencing hearing basically stating that it was the happiest day in
his life, feeling that he can now have some peace, pay for his crimes, and not have to
deal with supporting all of his children anymore. His comments seem to upset a few of
the victims families, who also made statements at the hearing.
Jason Buchholz (from DePere) and Ron Winker (from Wisconsin Rapids) teamed up to harvest this
dandy 13 pointer on September 24th, hunting on public hunting land in central Wisconsin.

Jason arrowed the buck first (hitting a little further back than he wanted), the buck ran 100 yards
and buddy Ron put another arrow into the buck (his shot was also slightly back of his wishes).

Jason and Ron decided to wait until morning before pursuing the buck which was the
correct decision. They found the buck 60 yards from the last known location.

The buck was a 13 pointer, with a split G2, boasted an 18 3/4" spread, and green scored 157 1/4
inches.

Price of a new Mathews bow - $800, price of a dozen carbon arrows - $100,
price a sharing the harvest of a trophy buck with your best buddy - Priceless!!

Congratulations Guys!! (photo below)
Below are photos of some of the larger bucks harvested in our local area.
I apologize for the picture quality, as they are from polaroids.
Mark is pictured above holding last years shed of this buck. He was hunting for the buck this year,

Iowa Trip
Below are photos from the guys Iowa trip in early December for the 2005 shotgun season.
On the trip were Doug, Trent, Lance, Rob, and Tommy.
Group photo of their total harvest for the week.
Doug with his huge 14 pointer.
Lance with his dandy 10 pointer.
Rob and his nice 10 pointer.
Tommy with his wide 8 pointer.
For myself, I never did get back out in the stand after Rifle Season. Work, shortness of day,
temperatures, and the fact that I never do much late season hunting all contributed to this.

I am looking forward to next years hunting seasons, and hope all of you have a great year! See you
then!
