FACT: Wisconsin rifle hunters took approximately 303,000 deer during the 2004 season
I ask all of you to join me in praying for the families of the 8 deer hunters that were shot in
Birchwood, Wisconsin on Sunday 11-21-2004. Five were killed at the scene, 1 of the 3 survivors
died at the hospital on 11/22/04, and 2 are injured.

It is a terrible tragedy, and there are no answers as to why this happened, only speculation for now.
This all started with trying to remove a trespassing hunter from private hunting land. Hopefully in
time the question of "why" will be answered. All we can do for the moment is pray, and to continue
striving to be good and respectful sportsman.

Doug, Trent, Rob, and Lance recently went down for the Iowa Shotgun Season.
They did very well, as you can tell from the photo, harvesting two 8's,
two 9's, and two 10 pointers.
Jim Block harvested this dandy 10 pointer during the 2004 Wisconsin Rifle Season.
The buck green scored in the mid 150 inch range.
This is a photo of the Denningers 2004 Wisconsin rifle season buckpole.
Included on the pole are 4 bucks shot by Lance
and 1 buck shot by Derek (Doug's son). Photos below.
Rob Almer with his 2004 bowkill, a nice 8 pointer taken on 11/9/04.
Kirk Luedtke arrowed this unusually racked buck on 11/9/04
Bill (Lance's stepfather) took this awesome 12 pointer in
November during the Montana rifle season.
Lance's mom "Carol" harvested this dandy 8 point whitetail during
the Montana rifle season on November 12th, 2004. The buck had 13 inch
G2's, dressed out at over 200 pounds, and scores near the 150 inch mark.
Congratulations Carol on a great buck!!
11/7/2004 - Mr- Whitetail (Tony) harvests a good 8 pointer. The buck had
a 16 1/2 inside spread, and weighed 179 lbs. dressed.
Brian Stenseth arrowed this possible new Wisconsin record buck on 11/02/2004. The buck had 24

10/02/2004 - Lance arrows a nice 8 pointer, 15 3/4" inside spread.
Don Christensen (a local disabled hunter) sent me this photo of a nice
8 pointer he harvested on October 2nd. "Whitetails Unlimited"
sponsored a disabled deer hunt near Shell Lake , Wisconsin.
Don's shot was 100 yards and he used his 7mm-08 to do the
job on opening day.
Way to go Don!

Don also hosts a disabled hunting and fishing website.
